PROJECT GROW INTEGRATED PRESCHOOL OFFERS
High quality individualized instruction to students who have moderate to severe disabilities (usually in two or more areas). This instruction is based on the High Scope “Plan – Do – Review” model and the Massachusetts Preschool Curriculum Frameworks. The integrated preschool model provides the opportunity for up to eight students who do not have IEPs and are usually considered typically developing, and up to seven students with moderate to severe disabilities. A lottery process establishes which non-eligible students will participate. |
At Rochester Memorial School, we follow the CARES motto (Cooperation, Assertion, Responsibility, Empathy, and Self-Control). As part of the CARES motto, RMS utilizes the Responsive Classroom social curriculum to help guide our students to become independent thinkers while building a sense of community. The Responsive Classroom approach is a way of teaching that emphasizes social, emotional, and academic growth in a strong and safe school community.
The social curriculum is as important as the academic curriculum. |
