St. Patricks day always brings excitment and fun to our classroom.Have you ever tried to catch a leprechaun? Leprechauns are mischievous and magical little guys, so we have never actually gotten a good look at one. One of the best parts of St. Patrick’s Day is designing and building the leprechaun trap! Big, small, tall, short, wide, or narrow! It doesn’t matter when it comes to this St Patrick’s Day STEM activity. Kids love trying to trap a leprechaun. Check out our Leprechaun Trap pictures below! We also all dreamed about "what" we would buy when we found his pot of GOLD. Some of our friends comments are below.... Matthew and William said "pokemon cards" Emmett said " a robot, shirts, bushes" Abby and Elle both said "1,000 unicorns" Emma said " take ballerina lessons" Cole said "groceries" Jack and Bryson said "a bike" Aria said "princesses" Noah A said " a computer" Zachary G. said "lots of toys at Target" Alex and Marty said " a house" James P said "lots of hot wheels" Bodhi said " go to JOJO land" Noah R. said "chocolate" Violet said " toys for her brother and sister" Isabel said " a real tiger" Colton said " a car ...a Jeep!" Zachary P - couldn't make a deicison (lol) We never did catch one! But the Leprechaun did leave us somemagic stones, so we knew he snuck by! The kids worked very carefully to open their stone, by gently dropping liquid gold onto the surface. Using their sense of hearing they described the sounds they heard while opening their stones " sounds like soda", " fizzing" , "slizzing".
